When buying a new home, it is highly advised that a CCTV drain survey is conducted before purchasing. Doing this could save you a lot of money in the long run.

What is a CCTV Drain Survey?

A CCTV drain survey allows you and our drainage engineers the opportunity to see the condition of your drains. A CCTV drain survey is a comprehensive written and visual report, issued to yourself and includes all (if any) identified issues and recommendations. All the recommended work found on a CCTV drain survey can be conducted by C&L.

Initially, the engineer will lift all the known manhole lids and complete a thorough diagram of the manholes, grounds and any points of reference. The engineer will then work either up-stream or down-stream depending on the access. The camera will record the full circumference of the pipe noting any damage, cracks, displacements, or roots. Any issues noticed during the drain survey by the engineer will be put into the written report and a suggested rectification offered.

A CCTV drain survey allows you as the customer to see for yourself why a blockage may be caused, this gives you the chance to make a decision on any further action. CCTV drain surveys aren’t only utilised in diagnosing blockages, they are also a great option for use before purchasing a property. There can be many different issues in a drainage system that can’t be noticed without the use of an in-drain camera. A pre-purchase homebuyers survey will give you peace-of-mind when spending thousands on a new home.

Give us a ring and we can arrange a date that works for you so we can carry out the survey.

Arrival on site

The engineer will arrive and complete the survey thoroughly noting issues (if any).

Engineer Completes Recommendations

Having identified any issues the engineer will note the recommended action to follow on the report.
04.

Receive and Report and Footage

Your report will be transcribed to a digital format and sent to you alongside the footage either by email or DVD, and any recommendations.
