Drain Maintenance & Repairs

Drains are usually a thought that won’t cross the minds of many homeowners until it’s too late. Whether you have recently moved or been a longstanding homeowner and think you require drain repair or maintenance, contact our team at C&L 24Hr Emergency Drainage. We carry out a range of drain repairs on our customers’ properties in Mid-Wales and Shropshire. We have over 25 years of experience in dealing with drainage problems, so you can rely on us to fix any problems you may have.

Collapsed and Blocked Drains

Excavation of collapsed and blocked drains to clear the blockage and replace the affected section with a plastic alternative.

Pipe Renewal

Excavation and replacement of clay and black pitch fibre sewer lines to the new industry standard of 110mm plastic pipe.

Rod Retrieval

Commonly, rods and attachments can be lost and trapped in drains when operated incorrectly. This can require either specialist rod retrieval equipment or excavation to retrieve.

Excavation and Drain Maintenance

Over the past century, there have been leaps and bounds in the quality and material used in drainage systems. Many households in the UK still have either clay and/or black pitch fibre. Although clay pipe was a strong material at the time, over the years, it has been known to displace, crack, and collapse. Black Pitch Fibre was used for a short period of time but is now known to swell, buckle, and compress even after only 12 months of use. Plastic pipe is now used as an industry standard in drainage systems for its resistance to decay and abundance of material.

From drainpipe maintenance to fixing a broken drain, we can make cost-effective repairs that will ensure your drainage system is kept in excellent condition. We can undertake a number of drainage system repairs, including sewer diversions, collapse repairs, root removal, drainpipe repair, and gully and soil stack repair. If required, our engineers will also undertake reconstruction work. Additionally, we can thoroughly clean your system to reduce the chance of blockages.

C&L also offers the installation of new storm and sewer systems for existing properties or new-builds. Sometimes, it is more practical to install a new line than to replace an existing one; this can include redirecting an existing line around an extension, new property, or hard-to-access area. In areas with restricted access, we use traditional hand digging where machinery is impractical.

5/5
After contacting several other national and local companies we decided to choose C & L to make repairs to our 40 metre sewer pipe. They are a small family business, but clearly had the expertise and experience we were looking for. It was good to see Lee onsite as one of the company owners, and Justin the engineer clearly knew his stuff, was professional and talked me through every stage of the work to keep disruption to a minimum. Great company, great people, fair and well assessed pricing, I would definitely use C & L again.
